July 2012 – present

· Audio Engineer  

Provide operation, repair, maintenance, & consultation of audio processes and equipment, from concept to delivery of live to tape, live, and taped productions occurring in the studio and on location.  Post-production non-linear audio editing on selected shows, and audio & video level technical evaluations.

Accomplishments:

- Instrumental in reviving a 12-year-old Studer D950 M2 production audio board. 

- Solved noisy microphone/beltpack incompatibility issue. 

- Recommended new microphone techniques to solve sibilance issues, sewed windscreen for lavalier mic.

- Recorded audio for Carolina Business Review, Healthwise, PBS membership breaks, Charlotte's League of Women Voters 2012 election debates, Off the Record, Latino Profiles, Charlotte Arts, & Charlotte: A City of International Success, among others.

·         Assistant Technical Director

Provide operation of any and all technical aspects of theater to clients in six on-campus facilities.  Interact with clients to understand technical needs for their production.  Maintain, troubleshoot, & install equipment for productions.  Instruct & supervise less experienced crew.

Accomplishments:

-          Reinforced audio for play using CD playback, 14 wireless bodypack mics, & 80-page script, with ½ rehearsal.

-          Provided sound mixing & reinforcement for 30+ artists at two-day music festival, without soundchecks.

-          Determined problem with wireless headset base unit, & initiated repairs.

 

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Public Broadcasting Authority, Charlotte, NC

January 2009 – July 2010

·         Broadcast Engineer

Maintain, update, & upgrade the broadcast, production, & editing equipment for three channels at a top 25 market television station.  Shade 4 Philips HD video cameras for weekly productions.

Accomplishments:

-          Led investigation into Clarity 5000 CG software freezing issue, coordinating with PixelPower.

-          Designed & built rack-mounted wireless microphone receiver shelf & power distribution center.

-          Designed, built, & installed mounting board for 15 new Master Control monitors.  Installed monitors.

-          Installed audio distribution amplifier & switcher into Master Control.

-          Installed five non-linear editing systems components into ten building locations.
